Overview

We are seeking a Recreational Tech to join the Behavioral Health team at our program with Permian Basin Behavioral Health Center, Midland, TX.  Permian Basin Behavioral Health Center is our newest state-of-the-art behavioral health hospital, providing services to adults, children, and adolescents.  

 

This is a brand new facility and we are hiring for all shifts, including weekends.

This Tech is needed to design and implement a variety of activity therapies to foster effective interactions, enhance coping skills, cognitive functioning, reality orientation, and prioritize independence in caring for self.

 

Signet Health is not an agency but a USA-wide behavioral health management program working with hospitals setting up behavioral health programs, addiction programs, and SOPs.  

 

The successful candidate for the activities position will be energetic, passionate, and creative.

 
Job Responsibilities:
  • Conducts assessments and establishes recreational theraputic treatment goals and objectives to meet the individual needs of the patient.
  • Evaluates each patient's progress and the effectiveness of recreational therapy interventions.
  • Coordinates therapeutic recreation activities for both large and small groups to observe patient responses and encourage socialization.
  • Provides patient and their family with information regarding leisure life styles and creates an awareness of recreational resources in their community.
  • Ensures that documentation of care and patient's responses are accurate, complete, specific, and timely.

Requirements/Qualifications

Qualifications:

 

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience in psychiatric care or with the criminal justice system. 
  • Familiarity with patient monitoring systems and medical equipment.
